With Service Pack 3, the following changes become effective:


  • Logging blocks can be added via the ribbon bar now
  • The importer of the Intrepid format (vbs) now supports CAN FD
  • The exporter of MATLAB (HDF5 based) format now supports text variables
  • A new field code {clock} generates filenames with actual time and date
  • A detailview was added to the Offline configuration window
  • Create marker on trigger events with Logging files (ASC/BLF)
  • The contents of the Graphics Window can be deleted temporarily
  • The width of the State Tracker Window’s legend is saved now
  • Date and time of the measurement start can be read via CAPL and .NET

Diagnose Feature Set

  • More consistent configuration of Functional Group Requests and simplified diagnostic simulation for Basic Diagnostic Descriptions
  • New Diagnostics sample configurations UDSBasic and UDSSystem
  • Improved integration of vFlash: updated node layer DLL and corresponding sample configuration
  • Improved display of diagnostic parameters in the analysis windows (State Tracker as well as Data and Graphics Window)
  • Support of diagnostic variants for diagnostic parameters in Panel Designer
  • Updated diagnostic descriptions for OBD-II and Standard Diagnostics (GenericUDS.cdd and GenericUDSLIN.cdd)
  • Improvements regarding the simplified diagnostic simulation when using diagnostic descriptions with UUDT, regarding Functional Group Requests and DoIP
  • Improved behavior of the OSEK_TP.DLL in case of mixed operation of CAN 2.0 and CAN FD
  • DoIP: Setting „RoutingActivationType“ in the „Diagnostics/ISO TP“ configuration dialog and new CAPL function DoIP_SetRoutingActivationType()
  • New CAPL functions diagGetParameterLongName() and diagGetRespParameterLongName() to determine the Longname of a diagnostic parameter
  • Unlock for "Additional Descriptions" is now accessing the Seed&Key DLL of the "Master"-diagnostic description

Test Feature Set

Together with vTESTstudio 2.2 SP2:

  • Navigation to a test case in vTESTstudio possible from within test configuration window and Test Trace window in CANoe
  • Definition of test case attributes in vTESTstudio to define metadata for test cases (e.g. ‘Lifecycle’); attributes available in the CANoe Test Report Viewer
  • Full support of AUTOSAR 4.2 PDUs for FlexRay
  • Support of ARINC 429

Visualization of Test Report with CANoe Test Report Viewer:

  • Strongly noticeable improvement of performance on start of program and on visualization of report content
  • For Test Units (from vTESTstudio 2.2 SP2): By using the mini toolbar on test cases, it is now possible to navigate to the corresponding test case within the Test Configuration Window (in CANoe) and to navigate to the corresponding test case implementation (in vTESTstudio)
  • For Test Units and Test Modules: Analysis windows in CANoe (trace window, graph window, …) can now be timely synchronized by applying a command of the mini toolbar on time stamps
  • Within the overview graphic, it is possible to perform a filtered test case query by clicking on the verdict bars
  • For Test Units (from vTESTstudio 2.2 SP2): Queries can now use also the test case attributes
  • It is now possible to export/import queries
  • It is now possible to open the Windows Explorer on the current report path via appropriate commands in the backstage view


  • Test functions with arguments for file paths can now handle Unicode characters

VT System

  • The digital IOs of VT2710 can now be configured and used
  • The new module VT7900A FPGA is now fully supported
  • The visual styles of FPGA Manager and Application Board Configurator are updated
  • Temporal events in the User FPGA can be measured more precisely by the introduction of further time stamps

Option AMD/XCP

  • New setting “Check DAQ configuration”
  • New CAPL function to access the polling time
  • The parameter “Priority” of DAQ events is now used for the configuration of DAQ lists
  • Resolved a problem when loading sub groups
  • The ASAP2 updater creates the output file for warnings and errors in the same folder as the resulting A2L file

Option .Ethernet

  • SOME/IP:
    • SecOC support for SOME/IP PDUs
    • Unified naming of secured SOME/IP PDUs and AUTOSAR PDUs
    • Interpretation of the SOME/IP Transport protocol in Trace
    • New SOME/IP-IL CAPL function SomeIpRemoveValue to remove elements from an array
    • SecOC support for AUTOSAR PDUs
    • AUTOSAR-ETH-IL CAPL function AREthOutputMessage supports IPv6
    • Ability to use service discovery without cyclic offer
    • Use the Default-VLAN priority as specified in the database
  • AVB:
    • Supports IPv4 and TCP/IP (using RTSP interleaved binary stream)
  • Logging of Extended-Ethernet frames supported in MDF4 ASAM format

Option .Car2x

  • Car2x Interaction Layer
    • It is now possible to send packets with unsecured security header (IEEE1609.2).
    • It is now possible to access the data of an unsigned security header (IEEE1609.2).
    • The size limitation of PathPoints Arrays when sending the BSM message (SAEj2735 2016) has been removed.

Option .J1939

  • The new CAN Interactive Generator supports the J1939 Protocol

Option .J1587

  • ChipCfg Dialog accepts for the Rx-Max-Inter-Character-Bit-Time even the value '9'

Option .ISO11783

  • Improved interpretation of TIM messages in Trace Window
  • Virtual Terminal Window operates on any CAN channel
  • Method VTIL_IsObjectVisible() considers if the parent container is hidden

Option .CANopen

  • Rework of sample configurations, new sample for CANopen Safety
  • Test functions for enabling/disabling of messages and changing cycle times are now supported
  • SDP server / SDO client parameter are now used to determine COBIDs (i.e. CAN IDs)
  • The CANoe master simulation supports Guarding now
  • CANopen system variables are now sorted alphabetically
  • CAPL functions
    • SDO client functions with client and server COBID (CAN ID)
    • Sending of emergency messages
    • CANopenTriggerTPDO sends PDOs with transmission type 0xFE now
  • CANopen Safety columns in the Trace Window are filled correctly now
  • The ProCANopen simulation generator does not overwrite existing CAPL code in certain situations
  • Improvements for PDO mapping and generation of system variable names

Option .AFDX

  • Performance improvement for scheduling
  • AFDX VL Statistics: On high load the statistic values are calculated once per second (instead of once per 100 ms).
  • After stop of scheduling a message, fragments which are already in the Tx queue will be sent anyway.
  • Sample configuration Basic ICMP: Function "Send Invalid ICMP Request" has been corrected.

Option .A429

  • CAPL – Test Service Library: The following test functions are supported for ARINC words:
    • Chk Create_MsgOccurrenceCount
    • ChkStart_MsgOccurrenceCount
    • TestCheck::CreateMsgSendCountViolation
    • TestCheck::StartMsgSendCountViolation
  • A429 Interactive Generator: Stability improvement when message list is empty

Option .Sensor

  • Support of UART – Protocol
    • Simulation of proprietary UART communication on byte level
    • Support of different UART byte configurations (e.g. parity bit, number of stop bits etc.)
    • Support of different physical interfaces: RS232, RS485, LVDS
